Database Error: 96 - a communications environment error occurred

Problem

The problem may be triggered by a software defect. The error causes the database engine to yield a communications environment error.


Resolution

---

The Caelo team is working to resolve and eliminate this defect. There is currently no resolution, however, see the work around below.


Work Around

---

When this error occurs, the database engine must be restarted. There are two methods that can be used to restart the engine:

1. Close your application and restart your computer, OR

2. If you are familiar with the Windows Task Manager, you can end the process:

• Close NEO.
  
• Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to start Windows Task Manager.
  
• Click the Processes tab.
  
• Highlight Image Name W32mkde.exe.
  
• Click End Process. It should disappear from the list.
  
• Start NEO.
